T.I.L.T. urban spray
(view the large or the original size to be completely doused.)
baltimore heat
mixed with early school closings
are the ingredients for the
uncapping of a corner fire hydrant.
all of this watery goodness
took place right across the street
from the school.
i kicked off my shoes and
i ran up three flights of stairs
to grab my camera
once i realized where the water in the
gutter was coming from.
i ran up to the corner
along with shorties
and parents
and was in photography heaven.

oh wow, i can feel the relief

ReplyDeleteabsolutely beautiful photos. sometimes I feel as if my world is growing small, but stumbling onto this delight gave me a wonderful contrast to my life on the beach where the ocean is always available...uh, minus the times of post rain street run-off and the unfortunate occasional sewage spill... ;)
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo!
ReplyDelete"Feel the relief" indeed!
What an incredible photograph! It's possible to feel the power of the water surging from the hydrant, as well as the blessed relief from sweltering temps! I hope you plan on submitting this pic to some contests - bet it would win some nifty prizes!
