more than words
my shorties have always drawn me pictures.
even when they weren't my shorties,
in second grade,
they would cram a picture
into my hand
as they passed me in the hallway.
"i drew this for you,"
they would croon
as they threw their arms around my waist.
now, they draw AND write.
here is one that was drawn
by a shortie that i swear
is a true-life angel.

ReplyDeleteYour shorties are the same age as my oldest, and she is a letter writer. Are all ten year olds like this or just certain sentimental ones? Anyway, Maya writes long, loving notes to her teachers; the type teachers keep forever. Needless to say, I beam every time I look at my own 40-billion letter collection.
