beans

try one bean.
that was all i asked him to eat.
then..i caved and asked for only half of a bean.
dipped in maple syrup.
half of a bean became one quarter
with a meatball chaser and only a few tears.

veggies.
jeez…

followed by pirates,
opening the christmas cards that came in the mail,
and digging out the ornaments from last year.

the beans forgotten.

  1. I could not not, (not would, could) eat strings beans. They literally made me gag. There must be a better way to feed kids vegetables. Like in a smoothie.

    1. he actually was ok with it. the maple syrup helped. i roasted them, too, so they were not mushy.
i loved them as a kid. so much that my grandmother called me "kath-a-leeny greenie beanie." haha.
