T.I.L.T. (things i love thursdays)
today, i soaked in the bliss
of taking a nap with my man and
two bad, but sweet-when-sleeping kitties,
and paul's hands on my belly waiting for
the next kick, hiccup, or stretch
that has been occuring inside.
i love having two weeks to reflect
on the progress that the shorties have made.
the last five days of our session were good.
but it was exhausting making that true.
encouragement and kind words
thoughtfully came from their mouths
and, i honestly think, from their hearts, too.
could they be getting it?
will they forget the peace they found
over the break?
i have a plan for our return.
our last expedition for the year will
be to focus on peace and how it is achieved.
reflect.
breathe.
open the heart.
breathe.
feel the love.
believe.

enjoy spring break beautiful mama. i hope that this school years end, brings you and the shorties peace and love and that this resonates all summer for them. xo
ReplyDeleteyour photos and writing are so lovely, it gives me chills.
ReplyDeletehave a beautiful break.
Thank you for sharing this. We must believe, as educators, that what we strive for in the classroom is a process that starts with planting the seed and then takes all kinds of care to develop into fruit.
ReplyDeleteMy break starts in a week....
what a wonderful thursday. :)
ReplyDeletei heart your writing! every time i come here and there is a new post, i take a long deep breath so i'm in the right frame of mind to savour it all.
you work so hard. i'm so impressed with the kind of education you impart....teaching peace. just amazing.
ReplyDeletep.s. Here's a very interesting video (both amusing and on point) about "education" by Sir Ken Robinson
