kifli
living behind the school,
hiding from the rain in muddy rat-tunnels,
and being hungry are behind her now.
meet kifli.
weighing in at 1.3 pounds.
we bathed her
with lavender shampoo
and warm water.
she didn't move an inch as
the flea dirt and mud washed out
of her fur and swirled down the drain
she is stretched out,
licking her paws;
cozy and nestled
in her down-filled blanket.
life is good, little one.
may you have sweet dreams
and be happy.

Looks like a really sweet kitty!

ReplyDeleteOrange kittens are my absolute favorite.
ReplyDeleteso sweet...
kittens, mmm, love their purring and snuggles.
what a perfect little find. enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteI was watching the kittens nursing on Friday from the cafeteria window. I felt like we were at the zoo. Today, one of the preschoolers wanted to know where the kittens were. I guess I can direct her to one of them...:)
ReplyDeleteThere was no other name for this adorable one. Kifli is perfect! Of course you know how I feel about orange tabbie!
ReplyDeleteWe're on our second litter at my school. You were lucky you could catch her...I don't think ours would like to be caught. But they're sweet to watch...in the shrubbery...outside the Counseling office windows. And they get surrpetitiously fed and watered, of course. Mostly by our gentle giant custodian. :)
ReplyDeleteYEAH, Paprikash has a friend!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted an orange kitty that I could name Ginger. Kitten is my favorite word.
