self-portrait tuesday: lolly-pop

this month's self portrait challenge
is all about pop art.

for my first entry
i decided to include my
camerathatilovelovelove
as it is usually found
in my right hand
no matter where i go
(yes, keno, even the water).

the colors reflect my moods
as they seem to shift and
change so much lately.

i feel restless
and ready to conquer something.
ideas fill my noggin...
the world is so vast
and i want to fill it
with something...
something...

as i finish up my two week break
from the shorties
i ponder future adventures.
how far can i take this teaching gig?
how can i make my lessons rich and deep?
betterbiggerstronger. more intense.

  2. Great portrait! I really resonated with this line: "how can i make my lessons rich and deep?" I've been 'allowed' the last 5 months or so to work on various activities at the junior high where I work. I've taken on lots of extra work and hours for no additional pay. I've gotten total support from the teachers, principal and counselors (I work in the counseling dept)...but not-so-much from the rest of the office staff (and I still kick major *ss at my 'real' job). This week one of the administrators asked with a disgusted sneer about the extra work, "Why are you DOING that?" I just don't frigging get people. To see kids who say they feel un-seen and dismissed light up and shine and feel good about themselves? What could be richer and deeper than that? I'd do it for free.
